Fieldbook home
The opening screen makes the app’s limits visible before any interaction. It shows local progress, four entry routes, and a reminder that the fieldbook is not a burial database or visitor-navigation service. A user can read the whole app without creating an account or saving a note.
Visit preparation
Eight optional checks cover weather awareness, water, footwear and mobility needs, a quiet purpose, photography permission, leaving objects undisturbed, following posted directions, and leaving the place as it was found. Checks are reminders only; they do not confirm opening hours, access, safety, or authorization.
Etiquette and accessibility planning
The etiquette screen emphasizes quiet movement, family privacy, consent before photographing another person or memorial, keeping pathways clear, supervising children, and asking practical accessibility questions before travel. It does not claim that any particular route, surface, parking area, restroom, or mobility accommodation is currently available.
Care without harm
The care screen uses a permission-first decision path: observe, document non-sensitive conditions, avoid contact, request authorization, and seek qualified conservation advice. It rejects bleach, acids, household cleaners, pressure washing, metal brushes, paint, adhesives, rubbing, moving markers, and improvised repair.
Private story prompts
Prompts focus on values, work, place, community, language, care, and what a future reader should understand. A user can select one prompt and write a local reflection, but the app asks them to omit living-person details, private conflict, exact travel plans, credentials, and records they do not have permission to reproduce.
Research ledger
Six source checks encourage researchers to identify a record type, transcribe exactly, distinguish original from derivative sources, compare independent evidence, record a citation, and label unresolved conflicts. The screen explains that a map field or user-contributed memorial page is a lead—not automatically a final fact.
Landscape lens
This educational section explains that Washington County planning material places a cemetery toward the east end of Veyo in connection with a park site, and that Utah State University Extension presents repeat photography of the surrounding landscape. The app does not turn those sources into current access instructions or ownership claims.
Reflection and deletion
A short intention and one longer field note remain in app-private storage. The clear command removes all checks, selections, intention, and reflection after confirmation. Android storage controls and uninstalling provide device-level deletion. There is no account or server recovery.
